Construction Project Coordinator (SCMC (Scheduling, Construction Management and Coordination)) in CERN's General Infrastructure Services (GS).
The General Infrastructure Services Department supports the infrastructure and provides the services needed to ensure the health and safety of all persons on the Organization's two sites. The Department is responsible for constructing and maintaining buildings. It also provides the necessary logistic services and scientific and administrative information systems for the whole Laboratory.

Construction Project Coordinator (SCMC) / Pilote OPC
Functions
As Construction Project Coordinator, SCMC (Scheduling, Construction Management and Coordination), you will be responsible for coordinating a variety of building and infrastructure projects.
You will:
•Supervise the execution of the work from project start to finish, in close collaboration with the project manager.
•Organize the worksite as a function of the planned activities.
•Distribute and implement the planning with the various contractors.
•Monitor the advancement of the works according to the schedule, adjust the planning with respect to the actual status of works and report on changes to the various contractors and project manager.
•Manage minor modifications on the worksite.
•Prepare and carry out the acceptance tests at the completion of the works.
•Verify bills and quantities.
•Supervise all administrative and financial aspects of the worksite to completion of the works.
•Take accurate minutes of meetings, follow up distribution of documentation and visas.
Votre profil :
Qualification required
Higher technical diploma in the field of building/civil engineering or architecture, or equivalent.
Please note that preference will be given to candidates with the above-mentioned qualifications: In principle consideration will not be given to applications from people with higher qualifications.
Experience and competencies
The experience required for this post is:
•Proven professional experience in the execution and/or supervision of civil engineering and building works.
•Demonstrated experience in the role of construction project coordinator (SCMC).
•Proven experience in the call for tender and selection of firms.
•Experience in the industrial and/or scientific environment will be an asset.
•Experience of the design and/or construction of scientific facilities will be an asset.
•Knowledge of civil engineering aspects of surface industrial buildings will be an asset.
•Knowledge of the safety rules applicable on the worksite.
The technical competencies required for this post are:
•Industrial and civil building design and construction.
•Quality management.
•Project management.
•Use of scientific and engineering software packages.
The behavioural competencies required for this post are:
•Managing self: taking initiative beyond regular tasks and making things happen.
•Achieving results: having a structured and organised approach towards work; being able to set priorities and plan tasks with results in mind.
•Communicating effectively: utilising effective negotiation techniques to achieve long-term results acceptable to all parties involved.
•Working in teams: working well in groups and readily fitting into a team; participating fully and taking an active role in team activities.
The language competencies required are:
•Spoken and written English or French. Basic knowledge of the other language or an undertaking to acquire it rapidly.
